ICAO English and a valid language proficiency qualification, as well as a valid type rating, are mandatory to exercise the privileges of an airline transport pilot license.
Aviation English is the language proficiency qualification, which entitles pilots to communicate with air traffic control in English language.
Regulatory background - language proficiency
On the international basis, the language proficiency assessment is required by ICAO Doc 9835, which sets out language proficiency requirements and testing standards. Within Europe and the EASA region, the Regulation Ec 1178/2011, Part-FCL and FCL.055 is regulating the language proficiency qualification. These two regulatory documents are complementary to each other.

In close cooperation with Aero Language is the approved Language Testing Body auth: SVK.LAB.04. Thanks to the set of approved procedures, we provide you with language proficiency assessments. As a result of the ICAO English test you will receive the certificate issued in accordance with both - international ICAO standards as well as European EASA standards.
ICAO English also online
ICAO English online testing is provided in close cooperation with Aero Language by utilizing the distance testing means. However, ICAO English exam can also be completed in person - by using the face-to-face method.
